Eco Facility Evidence of Astragraphia's Commitment to the Environment
Many people including you must have understood very well that Astragraphia is very identical to Fuji Xerox. But did you know? that besides being an official representative of Fuji Xerox in Indonesia, Astragraphia also has an Eco Facility that manages waste from various multifunctional photocopiers that are sold. The Eco Facility, located in the Pulo Gadung Industrial Estate, stands on an area of 1080m² with two main functions, namely to refurbish or recondition old machines that are withdrawn from customers to be eligible for resale.
The second function is as an authorized party to handle hazardous and toxic substances that are produced from multifunctional photocopiers, in accordance with predetermined rules to meet EHS (Environment Healthy and Safety) standards. The workflows of the two functions are mutually sustainable.
Machine Reconditioning Process
In the case of the mechanical reconditioning process begins with the withdrawal of printer machines that have expired and then dismantling or separation between covers, parts and electronic modules, and frames then cleaned only after being submitted to the production line for reassembling. If it turns out there is a need for repainting on the engine cover then it will be continued
After all parts of the machine are reassembled, the technician will test every function and feature available on the machine, according to the model and specifications. If all functions well, then the next process is a quality inspection where here will be ascertained whether a machine is eligible to be sold again or not. If it turns out that the machine passed the inspection then the next step is packaging and sent to the warehouse.
Hazardous Waste Management
Above it has been explained that one of the reconditioning machines is the stage of washing all components of the machine, now the washing water is collected in the WWTP (Wastewater Treatment Plant) and processed. Before being discharged into the sewer there must be prior approval from the Astra International laboratory and the Ministry of the Environment which states that the liquid waste is stated at a safe level. Whereas for solid waste such as cartridges there is a process of destruction that must be passed, and for that Astragraphia cooperates with PPLi (PT Prasadha Pamunah Industrial Waste) which specializes in the field of B3 waste treatment.
Back to the matter of safety and environmental procedures, the packaging to the delivery of waste to the PPLi landfill must be carried out according to the procedure. First, the waste must be packed in a jumbo bag and labeled, then PPLi will send a special car to transport the waste. In one month, the Eco Facility can take two to three shipments considering all machines from all branches are collected at the Eco Facility. The Eco Facility, which was established in 2002, is Astragraphia's commitment to the environment by heeding the rules that have been set.
